Hi Rao sir I need your help in this macro…..plz.

I have a two different worksheet with the name of GXA319 or another is GXA3120 with same content.
    With same column name like
    Block Byte Bits Value BroadcastSheetCoordinates

The Macro should do the following:
    1. It can compare 2 given ruleset xml, the rulesets can be selected by some browse button and there is an option to choose the particular sheet from both xmls. The compared output is copied to a new sheet which highlight the changes (in some color)
    2. It can generate PDFs for all the features by clicking one button from the compared output (can browse the compared output or else browse a ruleset incase if there is no comparison is needed).
    3. It can generate the Change Record excel sheets for all features by clicking one button (name the sheets as ‘Change Record’_ xxx’ where, xxx is the feature name)

    • PNRao July 22, 2014 at 8:03 PM - Reply

      Hi Chandra,

You can create a macro workbook with 4 worksheets:
Worksheets 1 (Home): Place 4 command buttons (say – at Range B2,B4,B9,D9)
Button 1 (Label: Browse File 1): Write VBA code to launch File dialog and pick Your File 1 to compare – It should in the Sheet 2
Button 2 (Label: Browse File 2): Write VBA code to launch File dialog and pick Your File 2 to compare – It should in the Sheet 3

Button 3 (Label: Compare): Write VBA code to compare the two files and print the out puts – You can print the Outputs (changes/ formats) in Sheet 4
Button 4 (Export Output): Write VBA code to launch File dialog to choose the folder to save the files. And Save Worksheet 4 as PDF and Excel Format.

      Hope this helps! Thanks-PNRao!

    Block Byte Bits Value SheetCoordinates
    #[EuCD 001] XXTYPE
    0x01 2 7-0 ssss X123
    0x01 2 7-0 yyyy X345

      Hi Chandra,
I have seen your requirement. This will take couple of hours to complete your task.
currently, we are all busy in preparing Online VBA Course and we can not spend that much time to provide the code.

As I suggested, you can start work on the project and you can ask questions if you are stuck with something. We are always happy to help you in answering your quick questions!

      Thanks-PNRao!

Sir I have already started the task. I will wait for your code. At least you can provide this first point.1. It can compare 2 given ruleset xml, the rulesets can be selected by some browse button and there is an option to choose the particular sheet from both xmls. The compared output is copied to a new sheet which highlight the changes (in some color).
        Rest I will take care.

    Hi,
    Rao sir,
I have a one doubt could you sort out this plz.
I have to create a Dashboard summary(or report generation summary) where
If i enter start date & End,Milestone date manually then whoever is working
between this date(engineer wise those who are working to display not those who left.
In this dashboard display the engineers working on the specified project.
Activities respect to the standard duration will be tracked based on the resource and effort.
so once I click the Button then it will generate the reports.
